Jennifer Gennari is a classically trained painter whose practice centers on animal portraiture. She earned her BFA from Ringling College of Art and Design in 2005, then refined her craft at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy, studying classical realism under Daniel Graves for three years.

Since 2014, Gennari has devoted herself entirely to animal subjects—among the first contemporary artists to do so—pioneering an alla prima approach that accords animals the same depth, dignity, and emotional resonance traditionally reserved for human sitters. Her portraits are intimate and exacting, capturing not only likeness but presence; each work blends rigorous technique with a palpable reverence for the animal world.
